Ottawa Shifts Net-Zero Grid Deadline from 2035 to 2050, Pitches $60B for Decarbonization

The final version of Canada’s Clean Electricity Regulations (CER) will postpone the deadline for fully decarbonize the country’s electricity grids from 2035 to 2050 and scale back the power sector’s emission reductions by mid-century from 342 to 181 million tonnes.
