The University of Strathclyde’s Advanced Nuclear Research Centre (ANRC) has formalized a partnership with the Candu Owners Group (COG) and the University Network of Excellence in Nuclear Engineering (UNENE) through the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU). The ANRC functions as a research and development hub, facilitating industry-driven projects and coordinating all nuclear-related activities at the University of Strathclyde. COG, headquartered in Toronto, is a non-profit organization within the nuclear energy sector, comprised of member nuclear operators committed to enhancing operational performance through joint efforts. UNENE represents a consortium of Canadian universities, industrial partners, government bodies, and international organizations dedicated to promoting excellence in nuclear science, technology, and engineering disciplines.
This MoU, initially established for a five-year period with the possibility of renewal, will see the three entities collaborate on various initiatives related to nuclear engineering, science, and technology. The scope of this collaboration encompasses research and development activities, educational programs and training, knowledge sharing and management, and support for nuclear power plant operations.
