Oil and Gas ‘Running Faster to Stand Still’, Would Need $500B/Year to Replace Depleted Wells: IEA

With output from known oil and gas fields declining at an accelerating rate, fossil companies would have to spend about $500 billion a year exploring for enough new supplies to replace their losses through 2050, the International Energy Agency concludes in a new analysis this week.
