A Senate committee has flagged a number of concerns with a form of geoengineering that uses land-based activities to sequester carbon by adding alkaline materials to rivers and harbours, but ultimately issued an enthusiastic endorsement for a “new, innovative sector” where Canada is already a global research leader.
