One of the first executive orders, this one titled “Unleashing American Energy,” called for a rapid review of anything that might be slowing down the development of US energy resources. It told all government agencies to look at their rules and actions and find anything that was making it too difficult to find, develop, or use energy resources at home – especially oil, natural gas, coal, hydropower, biofuels, critical minerals, and even nuclear energy. It even told the US Geological Survey to think about updating its list of important minerals, and possibly adding uranium to it.

This order also scrapped a dozen or so climate-related orders from the previous administration and immediately shut down the “American Climate Corps.” This was an initiative launched in 2022 by then-Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm, with a little help from Robert Downey Jr., to train people for climate-related jobs and put about $62 billion towards meeting climate goals.

Trump says: “The American dream will soon be back and thriving like never before”. But.. we`ll see what happens next.
