Study Ties Particle Pollution From Wildfire Smoke to 24,100 U.S. Deaths per Year

“Our message is: Wildfire smoke is very dangerous. It is an increasing threat to human health,” said study author Yaguang Wei of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, as a new paper links wildfire pollution exposure with tens of thousands of deaths annually in the United States.
